Akoya cultured pearls
The water temperature of the seas surrounding Japan is cold, making it suitable for the cultivation of Akoya pearls known for their high luster. Akoya pearls are distinct in iridescent luster and since each pearl layer is thin and fine, they exhibit delicate and intense gloss. The value of pearls is determined depending on such factors as luster, color, shape, surface, orient, and types of pearl oysters.
